Setting up the perfect proposal may be one of the hardest things any man has to do. "Will she like the ring? Will she like the place? Will she say YES?".

I'm sure many men have asked themselves atleast one of those questions before their proposals. Relax! Here are some crucial tips to remember before popping the question:

1. Talk about marriage first. Have you and your girlfriend ever really talked about marriage? If you answered "no", then you must bring up the subject before you propose! If she's on the same page as you then GO FOR IT! If not, don't panic. Give it some time, maybe she's just not ready yet.

2. Make sure the engagement ring is right. Remember, your fiance-to-be will be wearing this ring every day for a long time. Make sure it's a ring that she would love. How will you know she'll like it? Next time you go to the mall and pass by a jewelry store, don't be too obvious but bring it up in a conversation. If this doesn't work you can always ask her best friend or mother to help you pick one. If she's a real particular type of person, then maybe you should find out if she would rather pick it out herself.

3. Make sure you keep it a surprise!Pick a time when she will least expect a proposal. Do something out of the norm for her, afterall this only happens once in a lifetime!

4. Pick a place that she would love and that you love. Be romantic! Women love romance and the place you pick is just as important as the ring. Make it personal, don't do it in a big crowd. Remember this is a special moment between the both of you, unless she mentions wanting a big crowd around, don't do it.

5. Talk to her parents first.We all know times have changed from the old fashioned days when you had to get the father's permission. But it shows alot of character and respect when you ask the parent's first.

6. Drop on one knee! There's nothing sweeter than having the love of your life drop on one knee and ask for your hand in marriage. Women dream of this moment all their lives, this will add the icing to the night.

7. Tell her why you want to marry her. Last but not least, women love when men open up to them. Tell her why you want to spend the rest of your life with her, she'll love that.
